We were all in for a treat yesterday when the Year 6’s put on their leavers show. The children thought of the idea of looking at themselves in the year 2031 and how they could all bump into each other again in their chosen professions. There were: Police Officers, reporters, footballers, mechanics, car designers, medics, vets and many more career choices.
They gave the rest of the school a brilliant performance during the morning, then performed again in the evening for parents and caregivers. Both performances were great as they made the audience laugh with their comedic lines. Well done Year 6’s! Also, well done to all the teachers and support staff involved with their performance.
Today, the Year 6’s continued to inspire us when they gave their speeches in the final assembly of the year. There were some lovely, heart-felt messages from them as well as moments of humour, especially timing Mr. Ireland’s speech!! Most of the hall had a tear or two (or three!) listening to the lovely messages (including the staff!).
The Year 6’s have been a fun, humorous, hard-working, thoughtful and great group of children as well as role-models for the rest of the school. They are leaving behind some huge shoes to be filled by the next Year 6’s.
Good luck in everything you choose to do and don’t forget us!!
