Children in Avocets have been learning how to make bomb shelters for Sheldon the egg this term as part of their work about the Second World War.
The children had to design and make a shelter that would protect Sheldon from a golf ball dropped from one metre using nothing but ordinary paper. The children learned different ways to strengthen the paper such as laminating sheets together and corrugating it.
Due to the children’s excellent work, Sheldon survived almost all of the tests. Cracking job Avocets!
