Starcross collect trophy for Year 5 Design and Technology Challenge

On Tuesday morning Year 5 children from Starcross Primary School visited Dawlish Community College for a taster morning, to see the college at work, experience some lessons and enjoy a college lunch.
After a welcome and introduction the awards were presented for the Dawlish Community College Year 5 Technology Specialism Challenge.
The challenge consisted of a workshop across 4 subject areas – Science, ICT, Design and Technology and Mathematics with each DLP primary school sending a team of four children to each workshop. During the workshops the children were awarded points for effort, teamwork, technique and conclusion. The points were then totalled to give a winning team for each event and an overall challenge winner.
