Volunteer Helpers

At Starcross, we always value the work that volunteer helpers undertake with the children here at school. Whether parents, or members of the wider community, we welcome any additional help that we can get, and recognise the skills that voluteers have in helping to impact on the children’s education.

If you think that you can help us in any way, including supporting the children’s learning and play during lunch breaks, then please contact the school, where more information can be given. Obviously, all volunteer helpers will be given full Disclosure and Barring checks as part of our safeguarding procedures, but we would love you to come forward if you are interested in helping in any way. Parents and carers have up to now enjoyed helping in the following ways:

  • Driving children to activities as part of our “Driver Bank.”
  • Listening to readers during the school day
  • Helping with tasks such as displays
  • Helping supervise the children at lunch times
  • Helping out on trips and excursions

Please remember that although we do not pay our volunteer helpers, we value and cherish the support that they bring to the school. So please contact the school if interested during normal school hours, where further details will be given.

Please contact Mrs. Drew in the school office if you are willing to help.
