Shaldon Zoo Visit

This week we have had a visit from some of the staff and residents of Shaldon Zoo.
Katie, Julie and Megan from the zoo brought some of their friends to visit the children across the school – Madagascan hissing cockroaches, giant stick insects and African land snails!
We learned about these “minibeasts” (not all insects as the snails don’t have 6 legs) and about the habitats they live in, the foods they eat and other fascinating facts about their lifestyles.
The children all had the opportunity to handle each of the minibeasts – some children were more keen than others as you can see from the photos!
Many thanks to Shaldon Zoo for giving us a fantastic couple of days.
