Saving the Sea Grass – What an Inspiration!

Posted on

What an inspiration these 3, Year 6 girls are!

A while back, we had a special assembly with Rachel from the Community Sea Grass Initiative to come and talk about this delicate eco-system in our waters. The girls were inspired by talk and decided to do something to help raise money for the cause.

The girls decided that they wanted to have a colouring competition and cake sale in order to raise money. They wrote a letter outlining their plans for the venture to communicate with parents and children of the school, spent Thursday night baking several cakes for the sale and bought prizes for a KS1 and a KS2 winner of the colouring competition.

On Friday at break time, they stood in the cold and sold their cakes, then stayed after school to sell the ones they had left over too! Altogether they have raised £28!

What tremendous citizenship you have shown to organise and do something like this through your own motivation and determination.

We are all very proud of you girls! Well done.
