Coding and programming has become a large part of the ICT curriculum since the new curriculum in 2014. So, as the technology element of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), the children in Years 4-6 were able to have a go at designing a buggy to travel over the surface of Mars as part of Science Week!
This is actually part of a national competition, The School Robot Competition for children aged between 8-14. It allows children to build their buggy in a virtual ‘garage’ on the augmented reality app on Twinkl.
The photos below give an idea of what the children were doing in order to create their robots. Please enjoy them.
