Razorbills were plunged into darkness and a world of wonder at Sidmouth’s Norman Lockyer Observatory. The size and movements of the planets were demonstrated to gasps of amazement before we were treated to the wonders of the night sky. The planetarium turned our daytime visit into night time, so we could look at some of the constellations. We were also given a tour of the telescopes. All of this information will be used in our science topic this term, Earth and Space.
As we were in Sidmouth, we ended our day with a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary. We learnt how working donkeys are cared for and we made friends with some of their residents.
Our fun day out was packed with information we will be looking at further this term.
