Razorbills make a Shaduf!

Posted on

In Razorbills last week, the children were challenged with making an Ancient Egyptian device called a Shaduf, which helped to collect water from the River Nile.

The children had some sticks, a yoghurt pot (the bucket), elastic bands (to act as rope) and some string (to also be rope).

They then needed to construct a free-standing water collector. No tape was allowed as the Ancient Egyptians didn’t have any!

Some are looking very successful so far!
