In Science this week, the children have been learning about pitch.
We did this by looking and playing some different instruments and spotting what makes the notes play low or high. We looked at: Boomwhackers, xylophones, drums and used the children’s’ knowledge from music lessons with ukuleles.
Following this, the children were challenged to make a set of panpipes using straws. They needed to use their prior learning with the musical instruments to make sure their own creation changed pitch too.
It was a lovely, practical science lesson where all the children participated well! Please enjoy the slideshow below.
