Film Night Success

Posted on

Hi Everyone

Well, we kicked off our findraising activities with a bang last night, when we held our first ever film night at the school. Children from all year groups came along, and after paying their entry, choosing their popcorn and drinks and taking their seats, they sat back and enjoyed the night’s entertainment.

It has to be said that every single child was a credit to the school, and behaved immaculately. The evening couldn’t have gone any better, and the really good news is that the money paid by the children managed to raise a whopping £158.30 towards our project. That was a serious milestone, as it now takes us past the £1500 figure for money raised towards our new solar panels. Well done everyone!

There are now more dates for more exciting activities to be undertaken, and we are going to be carrying on with the good work on the 8th March with a CAR WASH at school. This idea was raised by the children themselves, and there will be more information to follow on this, and any other activities, in the next blog entry.

A huge thank you to the parents though as well, as many of them turned out to help and chaperone the children last night. This event, and all of the others coming up, couldn’t even run without you, so many thanks indeed. LET’S GO FOR IT!

Remember, you can donate as little as £5 to this very worthy project by visiting www.solarschools.org.uk/starcross/ or by simply donating it at the school office.

Thanks!

Mr Ireland
