Our Starcross Primary School pupil, Ben gets into Arsenal Soccer Schools Development Centre.

Ben has been invited to attend Arsenal Soccer Schools Development Centre at Exeter on Thursday evenings. Ben has been invited due to not only his technical ability, but his understanding of the game, commitment, enthusiasm and effort he puts into training.

Development Training Centre players work through an advanced structured syllabus with an emphasis on technical and tactical development. Within the syllabus they look at each discipline of the game, using the professional coaching methodologies created at Arsenal FCs training ground. The experience will not only improve Ben as a player, playing alongside many other talented youngsters in the region and the experience of playing in fixtures across the South West will develop his confidence, aspirations and maturit

Adam Hayman (Devon Coordinator for Arsenal Soccer Schools) said “Ben is a fantastic young boy and has been a delight to coach during his time with us to date. We are passionate about providing an environment which suits a child’s age, ability and attitude, and the Development Training Centre is a great fit for Ben at this time. We work with thousands of youngsters each week across the region in a variety of other settings, from PE within schools, extra-curricular clubs, weekly Gunner Tots (2-4 year olds), Mini Gunners (4-6 year olds), Progression Centres (7-12 year olds) and our Elite Centre were our teams play in the Junior Premier League.”

The nearest Arsenal Soccer School in Dawlish is their NEW weekly Mini Gunners programme (4-6 year olds) at the Dawlish Leisure Centre on Tuesday evenings 5.00 – 6.00pm. For more information available here.

Mr. Ireland, Head Teacher, commented on Ben’s Success also. He stated:

“All of us here at Starcross Primary School are incredibly proud of what Ben has achieved. To reach this sort of level takes determination, discipline and bucket loads of hard work. I’m thrilled that Ben has represented himself, his club and his school so well in achieving this. We love sport here, and this is another example of how supportive the parents and carers are too in developing the skills of children who go beyond what is taught in school. Well done, Ben!”
