On Friday last week (02.07.2021), we had Simon Ripley coming into school to give us a printing workshop using polystyrene and inks. (Double Elephant Print Workshop – www.doubleelephant.org.uk)
Simon had previously completed a printing workshop for some of the teachers as CPD and it was lovely to learn this new skill to share with the children. This was funded by the Daisi Project.
On this day, Simon talked through the process of printing with the children, showing them how to use the rollers in the inks and how to carve out their images on the polystyrene. These were then used as the prints. Simon also showed the children how to layer their work to add different colours to their images.
As you can see from the pictures, the children enjoyed this form of art and created some lovely images that linked to our Habitats topic this summer.
