Avocets learning at the church

Posted on

As part of our R.E (Religious Education) learning, we visited the church to look for symbols associated with Christianity.

Clare met us there and guided the children to their learning by discussing many symbols and how they were important. For example, the symbol of the fish possibly linking to a secret symbol, which was traced on the floor with a foot to let other people know you were Christian during Roman rule. We also learnt about other symbols such as the dove, the vine, wine and bread and candles.

Many thanks to Clare for giving us her time to help with our learning. We learnt a lot!

We hope you enjoy the pictures and the Christian display we have made following our learning. You can always pop into Avocets if you would like to see it!
