Avocets Egyptian Museum!

Posted on

Avocets created a museum of their work to share with parents and carers to mark the end of a fantastic topic on Ancient Egypt (well nearly the end).

All of the fabulous art work was on display: the jewellery, sunset silhouettes, sketching and papyrus paintings. As well as this, we had our fun poetry on ‘How to be a…’ where children chose who they wanted to write about from Ancient Egypt such as ‘How to be a Pharaoh…’ Another Literacy element was our creative story writing. The children chose their favourite patterns and rhythms from their story and illustrated them. Finally, there was also our History and Geography books to show the other areas of Ancient Egypt we had been learning about such as: Egyptian food, clothing, farming/seasons, society and the landscape.

The children have worked so hard throughout this topic and their enthusiasm and knowledge was evident with the way they spoke to parents about the different areas we had been studying.

Miss Houghton and I would like to say a huge “THANK YOU!” to all the parents and carers who came to visit our museum yesterday. There was so many of you who came to celebrate and support the learning of the children. The faces of the children ‘lit up’ as they spotted their invitee(s) and it meant so much to them, most importantly, and us as a school, that you gave up your time to come in.

Please enjoy the photos below of the children’s’ wonderful work.
