Ancient Britain Art

Posted on

Oystercatchers have started their Romans topic this term by learning about Ancient Britain before the Romans.

We learned about the type of houses (roundhouses) that the ancient British tribes lived in, and how their warriors attempted to scare the Roman army away with fierce and brave displays in battle, including painting their bodies with woad and spiking their hair up.

We also learned how the disciplined, organised and better equipped Romans managed to defeat and conquer “Britannia”.

These watercolours show our impressions of the British houses and warriors before the Romans invaded.
