On Friday we were all treated to some fabulous artwork in a special assembly. At the start of the term, we had a portrait day where each of the classes had a different style or artist. Time was spent looking at how to draw their own portraits in that style. As you can see from the pictures, there was a great selection of masterpieces from Reception to Year 6!
Also, as part of the assembly, we had Annie and Roger Kirk from the Helen Foundation to give a very special award for contributions to the Arts. There were two highly commended artists for their contribution to art and contribution to drama.
However, the main award for the afternoon went to Marina Lambert-Gorwyn for her incredible talents as an artist. Those of us who have been lucky enough to have Marina in our class, will have seen the flare she shows when it comes to drawing, colouring and painting. As you can see from her selection of work, she pays great attention to detail, understands proportion and obviously has incredible patience to finish with the pieces she does. Well done Marina!
